Everything in life is vibration.
Modern science is now recognizing what ancient sages, mystics, and yogis have been saying all along: At the most basic and fundamental level, every single thing in our universe is made up of energy. This understanding is compelling when it comes to understanding how energy, sound, and vibration can be used to promote healing and restoration in our bodies.
Our bodies are powerful self-healing instruments, if we give them a chance.
Sound is an incredibly profound tool which fine-tunes our greatest vibrational instrument: our own bodies. Our body, mind, and spirit desire to be moving in a direction toward balance, yet often the external stimulus and noise in our lives can create roadblocks between us and long-lasting experiences of harmony and well-being. Because healing occurs most effectively in a state of deep relaxation, sound and vibrations offer a natural pathway to deeper states of consciousness, expanded awareness, and ultimately restoration.

Sound and vibration are catalysts to deeper layers of relaxation and healing. Because everything is energy, these sounds and vibrations resonate with our body's own energetic frequency. And through this energetic entrainment, feelings of separation dissolve, walls of resistance soften, and stress/tension floats away. And once again, our body is restored to its natural state of equanimity and wholeness.
"There’s no organ system in the body that’s not affected by sound and music vibration.” ~ Mitchell Gaynor, M.D.
Anyone who facilitates sound healing sessions knows that there is an unseen purity, an essence, a grace, a wordless connection that flows from heart to heart through these microscopic strands of vibrational energy that make up everything in the universe. The tools we use are only conduits.
Today, we feel renewed in our gratefulness for all of our humble beginnings and for this practice which returns us to our hearts over and over and over again.

Black Cat Yoga began with a simple idea: bring people together through yoga, music, and community. What started with a single class has grown into a heart-centered gathering place for Kirtan, sound baths, and shared practice. Our intention has always been to support people in discovering their own path, and the joy of walking it together.
