CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

All of our classes are taught following an intelligent sequencing model and infused with time-honored yoga philosophy. This established teaching methodology not only ensures the physical body is prepared to safely move and transition through a thoughtfully planned asana (physical) practice, but it enriches all our students with a holistic yoga experience of movement and meditation. All students in our studio are encouraged to practice at their own pace and modifications and variations are always offered, which makes each class a unique opportunity for beginners and longtime practitioners to practice as a community.

WHAT DOES "VINYASA" MEAN?

"Vinyasa" is a Sanskrit word which translates into “to place in a special way."  It is style of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. Vinyasa aligns an intentional sequence of postures with the breath to achieve a continuous flow of movement and energy while inducing a higher level of awareness, stillness, and contentment in the mind.

MIXED LEVELS

This Mixed Levels Vinyasa class is a perfect class for all levels of students. Our teachers are comfortable teaching to multiple levels of practitioners and are experts at offering safe, knowledgeable, and consistent instruction to both beginners and longtime practitioners. This flowing breath-centered practice is a well-rounded and energetic

holistic yoga experience consisting of meditation, breathwork, and asanas (seated, standing, and reclined physical postures) designed to benefit all levels of students. Optional opportunities may be offered to explore deeper expressions and more challenging variations of the physical postures to build strength and stability, improve balance, and connect to the breath.

YIN YOGA

Beginners and longtime practitioners welcome.

 

A passive and contemplative practice, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 3 to 5 minutes. With a focus on stillness, yin influences the subtle energy in the body and targets mostly the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. Longer holds work to unwind and release the deeper, less flexible, and taut connective tissues underneath layers of muscle, making it an effective complement to a more dynamic Yang practice.

GENTLE YOGA

&yoga nidra

This NEW class begins Monday, September 14th!

 

Yoga Nidra, also known as “Yoga Sleep,” brings the body into a space of deep relaxation.  You will begin with very gentle and floor-based movements to prepare the body for meditation and then ease effortlessly into your Yoga Nidra experience, a luxurious full-body guided meditation and a sublime journey into the subconscious.  Yoga Nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.  Wear your most comfortable clothes for this perfect opportunity to nourish your body, calm your mind, and reconnect with your spirit.  Due to the gentle nature of this class, anyone can participate.

PEACEFUL MORNING FLOW

Beginners and longtime practitioners welcome.

 

Peaceful Morning Flow is a slower-paced and refreshing vinyasa yoga experience.  If you are looking for a way to cultivate more peace and a greater sense of well-being in your life, this is the perfect class for you. Enjoy a meditative flow practice that calms the mind and creates balance throughout the physical and energy system of the body. Move mindfully through a well-rounded and accessible sequence of reclined, seated, and standing postures designed to create steadiness and ease in the body. The smooth-flowing breath-centered nature of this class will leave you feeling lighter and more relaxed as you move forward into the moments of your day.

TGIF

GONG FLOW

This flowing and breath-centered Friday evening practice is a

well-rounded and energetic holistic yoga experience consisting

of breathwork and asanas (seated, standing, and reclined

physical postures) designed to benefit all levels of students.

We offer both modifications and optional opportunities to explore

deeper expressions and more challenging variations of the

physical postures to build strength and stability, improve balance,

and connect to the breath.  Your practice will conclude with

an impeccably relaxing sound meditation immersed in the deep

and resonant vibrations of a large gong so that you can move

into your weekend feeling both rejuvenated and relaxed.

Beginners and longtime practitioners welcome.

 

Invite the rejuvenating energy of a softer approach in this gentle yoga class.  Nourish your body with mindful movement consisting of accessible reclined, seated, and standing postures which promote healthy range of motion and cultivate a greater mind-body-breath awareness.  Focus on releasing tension and cultivating a greater sense of well-being by nourishing your body with intentional and gentle movement with an appropriate amount of time to establish proper alignment and explore modifications.
