you and the other practitioners in our community immersed in the study of the teachings.
With over 3,500 combined teaching hours, devoted personal practices which span over a decade,
and an ongoing commitment to remain active in continuous study and development, you can be assured that all elements of our teachings are consistently being delivered in a safe, intelligent, reverent, and restorative manner.
Lisa McCormack, eCYT-200, is Co-Owner of Black Cat Yoga Jacksonville. She has been a devoted yoga practitioner for over a decade, began her teaching journey in 2014. She offers her students a safe and tranquil space to explore and deepen their yoga practice, drawing her teachings not only from deeply rooted and time-honored yogic philosophy and wisdom, but from her own dedicated personal practice. Lisa has studied extensively in vinyasa, yin yoga, restorative yoga, and chair yoga.
Her classes focus on alignment, mindful movement, core-strengthening and integration, meditation, breath awareness, and self-care. By maintaining a consistent level of accessibility in her classes, Lisa has helped numerous people move beyond perceived limitations into a greater sense of well-being and a deeper mind-body-spirit connection. She also plays harmonium and guides crystal bowl sound healing meditations, a unique harmonic experience which induces states of deep relaxation, energetic balance, and promotes healing.
Kevin McCormack, eCYT 200, is Co-Owner of Black Cat Yoga Jacksonville. He began his transformational journey as a yoga student over 10 years ago, with his commitment to share his passion as a yoga teacher starting in 2014. His reverence for yoga is woven through his teaching and his practice. He creates a space for his students to have a deep inward experience, while at the same time developing a larger awareness of the physical and energetic practice of yoga.
Kevin offers a smooth-flowing, alignment-based sequence that is accessible to all levels of practitioners. His intention is that all yogis may experience the true nature of themselves through the mindful application of breathing and moving their bodies in a deep meditative state of being.
Andrea has been a student of yoga for over 18 years. She discovered the practice when she was a young corporate lawyer; and ever since then, it has been her go-to source for stress relief, wisdom and wellness. She is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher at the 500-hour level and has undertaken specialized training in SUP Yoga, Pre and Postnatal Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Adaptive and Special Needs Yoga, and Meditation and Mindfulness for Children.
Andrea is also a founding member of Urban Yoga Jacksonville, a cooperative organization created to bring low-cost yoga classes to the communities and neighborhoods of Jacksonville’s urban core. In 2016, she began her own business, Flying Colors Aerial Yoga, to bring Aerial Yoga to Jacksonville and later expanded her horizons to the wider world of Aerial/Circus Arts where she trains and occasionally performs with a local circus troupe.
David Goedtke, RYT-200, began his yoga journey in 2007. It was recommended to him as a way to work through a stressful time his life...a way to achieve a healthy work-life balance. He was inspired to share what he has experienced in his own practice in 2016 when he was introduced to Yoga 4 Change, a non-profit organization that provides trauma informed yoga classes for underserved populations which include vulnerable youth, veterans, incarcerated individuals and those dealing with substance abuse.
His training in this field informs all of his teaching by creating a safe space by providing a clear overview of what to expect during the class, to allow for choices by using permission language and to provide context as to why we are doing what we are doing, allowing students to more fully experience what they are feeling in their body as they move from posture to posture. He is enthusiastic to share what he has learned on and off the mat with other yogis.
Paige ‘Kali’ Padgett is a certified teacher at the 500-hour level. In addition, she has completed 400+ hours of therapeutic yoga teacher trainings and, she is co-owner of Flying Colors Aerial Yoga, a premier provider of aerial yoga classes.
In addition to Aerial Yoga, Kali also teaches studio and community classes in slow flow Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Taking time, conscious body awareness, functional movement and breath engagement are the hallmarks of her practice.
Lauren has a devoted personal practice that has evolved and deepened over the past 15 years.
She has traveled around the world practicing many types of yoga, meditations, and energy healing techniques. Having recently completed a 200-hour teacher training, she is excited to
share her love and passion for yoga with her classes.
Lauren has studied and practiced a wide range of yoga styles, including Vinyasa, Bikram, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Yin, Pre- and Post-Natal, and Chair Yoga. Her passion for culturally diverse music and movement weaves itself into her classes. She also has a deep spiritual connection to the practice and enjoys giving her classes an opportunity to connect with the inner self through breathwork, meditation, and emotive music and sound therapy. Lauren loves making new friends and strives to form a strong sense of connection and belonging among practitioners in her classes.
